Re. Cumin seeds
Demands are strong before Ramadan, local offers are Nil, there is no carry over from last crop ,which lead to sharp increase in prices influenced also by the increase of Indian price; The acreage of new crop is good supported by good weather conditions, with some clouds, there is still possibility for change of the situation, as we need two weeks till harvesting,
Major Roads are disturbed by conflicts, beside scarcity of fuels, and electricity which put many difficulties in transporting cargo,all ports are working fine, and containers are exported smoothly.
The government regulations of no change, but the disorder of local currency makes the prices volatile.
Re. Anise seeds :
Demands are moderate, the available quantity are limited in local market , price is expected to go up if the demand would increase as the acreage of new crop is less than last year but no accurate estimation ,it will be clear in harvesting time in July .
Re. Coriander seeds:
Carry over is still available ,demands are weak , the acreage of new crop is very less than before .
RE. Nigella seeds :
Demands are lower the offers, but prices stands still with it’s current levels, the acreage of new crop is less than before ,.
Re. Laurel leaves :
Available on demands but not big quantities, new crop will be in May/June, expecting regular crop, Good and bad qualities are available in the market, it depends on the source, so there should quality assurance.
Re. Almond :
Available on demands. Prices are not influenced by the international market due to the availability of cargo.
